What is the best cuisine, restaurants and hang outs in Mooresville?
Mooresville HomesI don't know about you, but I haven't spent much time yet exploring the new shops and cafes in Mooresville. Beside Jeffery's, Cool Breeze Cyclery, Starbucks there are a few notables: The first is Legends of Lake Norman Coffee and Wine Bar which offers an extraordinary array of food, wine tasting, beer tasting, coffee and live music. They offer a "full menu morning 'till night" including savory pastries and decadent desserts. I'm definitely going to check it out soon! Hidden in the small shopping center at the corner of Brawley School and Canvasback is a wonderful new option for breakfast and lunch: The Daily Grind Grill and Cafe. I have driven by it numerous times and finally had lunch there this week. It reminds me a bit of Egg at the Lake; fresh, homemade food. They have quite a selection of breakfast and lunch options. The service was cheerful and prompt and the food was very good.

What is the best historical part of Mooresville?
Moore's Siding was the first name of Mooresville, NC. In 1856 the Atlantic, Tennessee and Ohio Railroad completed the track from Charlotte to Statesville. The Railroad saw a need for a Depot with a sidetrack and cotton-weighing platform in Southern Iredell County. John Franklin Moore offered land for the site as well as lots for sale to anyone interested in building a town. The place was named Moore's Siding in honor of John Moore and his generous gift. Moore's Siding was incorporated in 1873 and the name was changed to Mooresville. John Franklin Moore died only 4 years later and was the first person buried in Willow Valley Cemetery.  Mooresville continued to grow over the years.  As of the year 2000 the population was 20,000 up from 9,000 in 1990.
